Scoutmob was a startup launched in Atlanta at the height of the daily deals craze. It debuted as a daily newsletter offering subscribers 50% off at a select local business and giving them an insider taste of the city through interviews, event calendars, and other features. I was hired as the first writer/editor in San Francisco. I developed a unique voice that held to Scoutmob's origins but represented SF's unique spirit. For the first year, I wrote all copy (and took all photographs) for the newsletter, which required extensive interviews and research. Working with an in-city sales rep, we took the newsletter from zero subscribers to over 100,000 in less than a year.
